The first doll I remember was one I won at a raffle in Milwaukee. I remember sticking my hand to pull out a ticket and was confused to find out it was mine. This is one of my early memories....a pleasant one. That doll was a Horsman doll with curly blonde hair, a rubber body stuffed with sawdust. I found that out years later when I bit her toe and sawdust came out. Oh how awful!!!! I must have been about three years old.
My mom got rid of her and a pile of other toys when I was in Junior High School. I still remember that sad feeling as the pile of old friends were carted off and taken away to their new home. That was what we did back then. In retrospect, I hope they didn´t go to some garbage dump or junk heap.
I only have part of the box from that doll. I don´t remember her name or model number but I do remember hugging her and putting her to sleep. She wore a plaid dress with a sheer white pinafore and cute little white shoes with a strap. I keep looking in books and researching to see if I can find her again....just to have one more look at her blue eyes that open and closed.

Hello and Welcome!
I will be posting dolls, their accessories and other crafts that I create. You will also find my reflections on what life has thrown at me and attempts to turn adversity into a new beginning.
This is my 'Recombobulation Area', join me as I get my life back on track after being sidelined by major surgery. I am grateful to be where I am today but it is indeed time to get my life back.
Stay tuned for more developments.
